The Fire have acquired defender Yamith Cuesta via trade from Chivas USA. A supplemental draft pick in 2012 goes to the Goats in exchange for the 21 year old Colombian. Details here.
Cuesta will be added to the roster immediately.

by adding another defender, i am guessing 4-4-2 formation is more likely now
I don't know that acquiring Yamith Cuesta necessarily means a formation change is in the works. But acquiring a 6-3 central defender does give them options although Watson-Siriboe is available and Robinson can also play center back.
who backs up segares on the left? wether he is playing as a winger or left back? is banner the only option there, assuming pappa stays in the center?
gibbs can play some left back too, eh? but i dont see him pushing up as a winger like segares does
Pretty sure Pantazopoulos played some there in pre season.
why we need another defender and not forward?
we do need another forward and they've acknowledged that. but we really didn't give up much to gain some more depth, which is never a bad thing...so it sounds like a good move to me as long as this guy is decent.
according to wikipedia he was on loan to chivas, and chivas released him back in february
he's played 15 matches in 2 seasons with chivas - not sure if he was injured at all during either of those 2 seasons
Pretty good piece on Logan Pause......
