Justin Mapp was originally in the Fire starting eleven but was scratched in favor of Mike Banner.  No word on an injury as of yet but I have to believe Mapp tweaked something in warm ups.

  • NE subs: Shuttleworth, Dube, Mansally, Videira, Colaluca, Griffiths, Sinovic

  • According to Chris Doran, Mapp aggravated an injury (hamstring?) and was scratched in favor Banner.

Nyarko starts on the left with Pappa on the right and Banner in the middle.

  • 30' - GOAL! Pappa from distance as Joseph and the NE defense give up way too much room.

  • That was the best thing that happened to the Fire; 2 week break. Even though Matt Reis was rusty and coming from a injury, Pappa capitalize an early goal and the Fire played solid defense. Even though the Revs are a horrible team, they have to start beating below average teams (like NE). I saw few mental mistakes that could had been worse but they played well in tonight's match. The Fire need an insurance policy at forward because Dimitrov is bad and slow on top.

  • I would rather have a bad McBride or Blanco anyday over a good Dimitrov. Blanco is not known for his speed; he is known for setting up plays and letting his strikers finish.
