  • i'm liking this lineup so far, they are actually keeping decent possession and some fair attacks so far.

  • Not a bad first half for the Fire. Some decent chances for both sides. Mapp is playing the central role with Pappa on the left and Nyarko on the right.

The funniest moment in the first half came when some moron in a Milan shirt ran onto the field in the 32nd minute. Said fan went right up to Ronaldinho, gave him an "I'm not worthy" and kissed his boots. Ronnie seemed to get a good laugh out of it.

  • ahhaha they didnt show that on the internet feed

only disappointment for me so far is the weak shots the fire have tried. no power behind them, or way off target. test the keeper please!

  • well overall i am happy with that effort tonite. one defensive mistake and they paid for it, but the flow was just better - they actually had some good ball movement as well as movement off the ball - the players didnt just let themselves be marked to they couldnt recieve the pass. maybe some confidence going into next game

  • Agreed. A better effort from the Fire.

I'll be back later tonight with De Los Cobos' post game press conference and some interesting things from Clarence Seedorf!

  • Was the fan who was arrested harmed? Media doesn't show it because 9 out of 10 times security uses excessive force on defenseless unarmed fans. Yes, if the fan is on the field absolutely take him or her off of the field, but you don't need to kneel on their backs or pile on top of the person causing them bodily injuries. To some of us it's funny but when the super fan got Tazered the other day at the ballpark that drew the line for me.

  • In reply to Janjo:

If they don't want a knee in the back they should stay off the field.

  • In reply to Janjo:

Then these morons should stay off the field ! How do the police know if they have something in their pocket. I am tired of people taking jabs at the police , I say tazer these jerks and kick them , that is how they will finally stop. I am sorry , but you break the law , you need to get your lunch handed to you.

  • In reply to FireStingDoug:

There was also a second goof who tried to get to Seedorf but Security tackled him before he could get there.

  • In reply to FireStingDoug:

In another off field issue last night. Section 8 started up some flares but some idiot threw one of the flares onto the field narrowly missing Dida. Another genius also threw a bottle onto the field at about the same time. I hope Section 8 pointed these clowns out because they definitely deserve a knee to the back and a kick in the rear.

I bet that might have brought back some bad memories...

  • In reply to FireStingDoug:

Agree FireSting. When the fan came on the field and went after Ronaldinho, I was yelling tazer him. The Seedorf incident with the fan did not last 2 seconds and security took care of him immediately. The imbecile that threw the smoke bomb and nearly missed the AC Milan goalkeeper went too far. Fans like that individual who threw the smoke bomb ruined it for the loyal fans in Section 8. My suggestion is to ban these fans from entering the stadium (i.e. Tropicana Field banned one fan from entering the field a month ago vs. Seattle while attempting to shake BJ Upton's hand).

  • In reply to FireStingDoug:

at bigsoccer several posters noted that the "fan" who threw the flare was pointed out by others to security and removed from the stadium.

hopefully for good measure they tazered him as well :p

  • In reply to Janjo:

WRONG. The media doesn't show the trespassers because giving them exposure would just encourage these yahoos. There is no conspiracy to protect the security people who are just doing their job.

  • In reply to Janjo: This is the incident he is talking about.

I think they fully deserve to get tasered. If they are going to run on the field then they need to be brought down. What better way than a stun gun.

    This would work too...
