Chicago Tribune from the 1908 World Series -- the last Cubs champion

Hey all! As I sit here at home getting set to watch the first Northside World Series in 71 years and the second in Chicago since 2005, I wanted to share snippets from the Chicago Tribune from Oct. 9-15, 1908 — AKA The Last Time the Cubs Won the World Series.

These photos are straight from the microfilm collection on the 3rd floor of the Harold Washington Library. At the time, the paper was the Chicago Daily Tribune, and the World Series was called the “World’s Series.”

Lastly, I am collecting Cubs fans stories and asking fans who they want the Cubs to win it for. Join the group and share your story.

Enjoy the series and Go Cubs!
