Giftedness

Here you can find all my posts about Giftedness:

Schoolsystems: the Netherlands and the US both a big challenge being gifted

My sons lack of fear and my biggest fear

An example of how gifted people think too much - I could have been dead!

My view on gifted education

How can a teach identify a gifted child?

Being gifted is not a gift!

I felt very stupid during High School, now I know I am (probably) Gifted - Read my story

Dear teacher of my gifted son: can we please work together this new schoolyear? Thanks.

Hans van Zon: Let the sun go down on these reactions to your opinion piece about Giftedness.

    Annemarie van de Wouw

I am a 37-year-old woman who moved from the Netherlands to the Chicago area in January 2013, together with my husband, two sons and two dogs. I started as a stay-at-home-mom, but when my youngest went to Kindergarten I started working as a substitute teacher. I used to be a teacher and counselor in the Netherlands, specialized in giftedness and autism. I am currently a substitute teacher and I am writing my first book. I volunteer weekly at my favorite senior in the whole wide world, I am doing research for other books that I still have in my mind, write blogs and I am trying to figure out how to deal with my recently diagnosed Rheumatoid Arthritis. We have a petting zoo at home, consisting of: our 3 muttketeers, a bearded dragon, a bunny, 2 guinea pigs and a hedgehog. Most of them are rescues. I basically try to help as many people as possible, without losing myself. That's why I've also made a new FB page, called: 'Share love all over the world'. I mainly focus on teaching, giftedness, learning more about the US, topics related to being Dutch in the US, traveling and everything that makes me wonder on a daily basis. If you would like to contact me about something, please don't hesitate and do so at dutchalienlandsintheus@gmail.com I am currently looking for people I can interview for my series 'Meet Chicagoland's Immigrants'. If you or someone you know would like to participate in my series, please e-mail me at dutchalienlandsintheus@gmail.com
