What Happened At The October Board Meeting

Board passes over school expansion request Chicago Journal:  The
Chicago Board of Education Wednesday held its regular monthly meeting
without reviewing a request for more and better K-8 school choice by
University Village residents… Douglass Academy LSC members want to talk with the district’s top leader Austin Talks:  

Misty Brown, a parent who serves on Douglass’ LSC, implored Huberman and
the Chicago Board of Education to keep Principal Debra Crump…. Unfiltered: Chicago Board of Education WBEZ:  The extended Huberman-Lewis exchange here foreshadows discussions that
are sure to emerge in coming months as the two sides hash out a new way
to evaluate CPS teachers… Teachers turn out, support colleagues labeled ‘do not hire’ Catalyst:  When
Cezar Simeon, a former elementary school teacher, rose to speak to the
board, 20 or so teachers stood with him. He pleaded with the board to do
away with the practice of marking teachers “do not hire.”
