Welcome to the shiny new Chicago Now version of District 299, the Chicago schools blog. I’m really excited to be here, and look forward to getting to know many of you in the days and weeks ahead. Welcome also to all of you who’ve been with me since the beginning.
As always, the purpose of this site is to inform and engage parents, educators, reformers, and students about what’s going on in Chicago schools. This
includes what’s working, what’s not working, what’s happening, and what
should be happening.
As in the past, I remain independent and unaffiliated. I will
highlight quality stories from any place that I find it. I will
criticize whomever warrants criticism, including the Tribune and the
Board of Education. I welcome all of your ideas, information, and
experiences, too — as long as they don’t become abusive or offensive.
