New York Times in a lather about Trump's "election conspiracist" to monitor the next election. Shame!!

Deniers gather in their coven to pot how to steal the 2024 election

Imagine, organizing poll watchers! What is this world coming to.

Should be another Pulitzer Prize for the vaunted New York Times: I has discovered that a lawyer who challenge the 2020 presidential election is “mobilizing” citizens and–gasp–” marshaling volunteers to stake out election offices, file information requests, monitor voting, work at polling places and keep detailed records of their work.”

Call up the National Guard.

Here are the Times headlines that reflect the typical biased media report:

Lawyer Who Plotted to Overturn Trump Loss Recruits Election Deniers to Watch Over the Vote.

A central figure in the scheme to reverse the 2020 election is mobilizing grass-roots activists into an “army of citizens” trained to aggressively monitor elections.

Read down in the story, and you’ll find the reporter, one Alexandra Berzon (B.A Vassar College), reveals the organizer is “…recruiting election conspiracists into an organized cavalry of activists.

Quick, someone get me a chair; I can’t take this news standing up.

You’d think that someone, anyone, in the news room would say that this is normal election organizing and that election “deniers” have every right to do so.

But nay, Even Tom Jones, Poynter’s self-appointed media watchdog praised the story:

The story starts with lawyer Cleta Mitchell leading a seminar on “election integrity” telling 150 “activists-in-training”: “We are taking the lessons we learned in 2020 and we are going forward to make sure they never happen again.”’

Jones highly recommends the story: “Read the story. It’s extremely troubling.”

Damn right it is. Troubling because the of (1) a reporter’s ignorance, (2) the extremely biased reporting, and (3) no editor spiked the story.

The story more than suggests that people who have argued the case that the 2020 was flawed, “stolen” or whatever are unspeakable dumbbells and dangerous. Their arguments about the election are always described as “debunked,” “unfounded,” “false,” “discredited” and so forth. Those subjective words reflect a judgment that waves away the idea that anyone in his right mind would consider an alternative to the give, ex cathedra wisdom

Yes, it is a legitimate story, just as a story about woke political organizers would be. What makes this illegitimate is the obvious and troubling bias, as if “deniers” are gathering in a secret coven, plotting an insurrection and, let’s say it, evil

I’m not a denier, nor am I an affirmer. I’ve read (and am still reading) both sides. Election fraud is a proven fact; there are legitimate arguments on both sides. I give the “deniers” the respect of listening to their arguments, and not dismissing them out of hand. This is a democracy after all. How ironic that the left keeps accusing the right of endangering democracy without seeing the mote in their own eyes.

  • God help us all! Americans organizing to protect their - not "our" - democracy. (There is a difference, don't you know...) BTW, when Hillary whined - and still is - that the 2016 election was stolen from her, how come the media didn't climb all over her with the same intensity they are re: Trump?

  • Read the article again, Dennis, this time for comprehension. The article notes that Cleta Mitchell pushes aggressive, surveillance tactics, and investigating government officials to see if the officials are "a friend or foe."

The article also noted how the "trained" activists had a default position of "fraud" if they didn't understand something, and that was how they framed their questions to election officials -- always accusatory.

In 13 of 26 polling places noting disruption in the recent Virginia primaries, Republican poll watchers were disruptive, in three places Democrat poll watchers were disruptive, and in the remaining 10 polling places, the poll watchers' political affiliation was not noted.

Sing and dance all you want, Dennis, but there was no election fraud. Of the 400 - 450 cases of real false voting (fraud) nationally, in 2020, the majority of those charged with falsely voting were Republicans. The only "proven fact" is that Biden won the 2020 election fair and square.

  • In reply to Grundoon:

No election fraud? Uh-huh. I happen to know for a fact that not one dead person voted in Chicago in 2020.

It's not surprising that Joe Biden received more votes in urban areas than Obama and even Hillary, given his ability to connect with the voter and his articulation of ideas and facts. Just his oratory, done mostly from his basement, put Obama to shame. We now see how the country is benefiting from Biden's leadership. We can only hope Brandon gets a second term. Having the first Demented-American run for and achieve the highest office in the land twice is quite an accomplishment.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

"No election fraud? Uh-huh. I happen to know for a fact that not one dead person voted in Chicago in 2020."
    -----------------------------------------------
Everyone else knows that too, which is why no one has made allegations about dead people voting in Chicago in 2020.

  • In reply to Grundoon:

Right-O! There was zero voter fraud in Chicago/Cook County. Any Democrat stooge knows that, who, by the way, are the only ones promoting that idea. Of course, the definition of voter fraud to a Democrat is that somehow a Republican or Independent vote slipped through the process.

  • In reply to Grundoon:

How do you define election fraud? People not eligible to vote, e.g. non-citizens, illegal aliens?

Listen up, pilgrim. The "fraud" I'm thinking of is the violation of the Constitution, i.e. political hacks rather than state legislatures changing election laws. There should be but one election day, not one that extends days or weeks. What beat Trump were all those legal Biden voters who weren't going to vote in the first place but then danced to the music of $400 million Zuckerbucks. This election was as corrupt and rotten as the Marxist agenda that now is the bedrock of the Democratic Party.

  • In reply to davegorak:

"What beat Trump were all those legal Biden voters who weren't going to vote in the first place but then danced to the music of $400 million Zuckerbucks."
    ---------------------------------------------------------
So now Biden really did get more votes than Trump? That's a start towards Trumpies facing reality. Where in the Constitution does it say that everyone has to have motives you agree with, Davegorak?

  • In reply to Grundoon:

You know, some people just fail to recognize the ability of the "Great Sniffer" to rouse the base (alive, dead, or occupying many addresses) and create a turnout greater than Obama. I'm glad Davegorak admitted the impossible was achieved. Biden did say that they have built the greatest "voter fraud" system in history. Probably his only truth.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

"You know, some people just fail to recognize the ability of the "Great Sniffer" to rouse the base (alive, dead, or occupying many addresses) and create a turnout greater than Obama. "
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Actually, the person who turned out the Democratic base -- and the swing voters for Biden -- was Trump. Trump was such an incompetent wacko that people voted for Biden just to make sure they got rid of Trump.

And the 400 or so actual voter fraud cases? Majority of those cases were committed by Republicans.

Sing and dance all you want, Richard, but your boy's a loser, and he lost fair and square.

  • In reply to Grundoon:

Who would want Trump, the loser? Gas was $3.00 a gallon cheaper, inflation was about two percent, Covid numbers total were hundreds of thousands lower, thousands of illegal aliens were not crossing the border per week, and new mothers didn't have to wait for foreign countries to deliver their baby formula.

I totally agree with you. The Great Sniffer looked at the above and said, "I can do better, " build it all back better. And it's true. Brandon has done much better. Of course, "better", depends on the definition of "better.". If you're a rich Sniffer doner you are doing quite well. If you're an ordinary Democrat stooge, you aren't. But the Biden tells you are every day, so you don't believe your own eyes.

Still, the only truth Sniffer has spoken is about the election fraud system. How come you don't believe him on that?

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

One more point I totally agree with you about. There is NEVER any voter fraud unless a Democrat loses. Look at poor Stacy Abrams, the legit governor of Georgia -- cheated. And Hillary -- cheated by deplorables. Then there is Al Gore, whose army of lawyers found hanging chads on every ballot. All cheated by Republicans. Disgrace!

  • "BTW, when Hillary whined - and still is - that the 2016 election was stolen from her, how come the media didn't climb all over her with the same intensity they are re: Trump?"
    -------------------------------------------------------------
Uh, maybe because she didn't go to court over it, accuse people of lying, pressure state officials, accuse state officials of treason, or incite an insurrection? Maybe?

  • It’s no secret that there are never enough Republican judges to cover all the polling places in Chicago and Cook County. Or Democratic precinct captains in the polling place. That’s the Republicans own fault. Maybe they shouldn’t go home to bed so early and leave the Democrats to close up. Or maybe they should learn their lesson and be more vigilant.
