Biden says we should look elsewhere, not at the Afghan debacle. Fine, let's do it.

His “successes:” Bungles after failures after catastrophes.

To redirect America’s attention from his disastrous and fatal withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, President Joe Biden–or more likely, his handlers–want us to look away and to focus on his many and varied other “successes.”

So, let’s take him (them) up on it. First…

The economy. Or more properly, inflation.

I’m not quite sure what success he can claim. On one hand, the economic recovery seems to be ducky, noting that “The continued economic recovery, fueled by consumer spending, brought economic output back to its pre-pandemic level just a year after the worst economic contraction ever recorded.”

By the way, former President Donald Trump didn’t cause the contraction; the pandemic did. Prior to the arrival of Covid, America was enjoying one of its most prosperous periods. Not that it matters.

Not to overlook the historic puzzle of unemployment while millions of jobs go unfilled. Especially with small businesses. It crimps untold opportunities for economic development. Biden’s demands for extended unemployment benefits didn’t help.

Anyway, at the same time of this nice recovery, thanks to Biden, he and his woke colleagues are proposing the biggest, most expansive and expensive, most wasteful spending program ever seen. Because, well, because we need it for the recovery that isn’t nice enough. Three and a half trillion dollars we’re told, although some estimates range as high as $5 trillion.

No one has a handle on everything that’s in this monster; it’s as if its creators started out with a number and then filled in the blanks. Even a “compromise” alleged to be $1 trillion or $2 trillion to supposedly spur the economy will have the opposite effect. It’s called inflation–too many dollars chasing too few available goods and services.

So many younger Americans have not experienced the hyper-inflation that swallowed the economy in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Retirement savings disappeared. Mortgage rates hovered around 14 percent. Wages couldn’t keep up with the rocketing price of groceries, rents and more . Get ready for another period of what former President Jimmy Carter labeled a “national malaise.”

Biden’s economic plan is a path to disaster. Years will pass as the economy struggles back and people lose jobs thanks to stagflation.

I guess we need to look elsewhere for a success.

Immigration. Here’s Biden crowing: “Biden touts Harris leadership on immigration as questions raised about her effectiveness.”

Move along, nothing here to see. Ignore the recent discovery at the border of an abandoned toddler with her month’s old sibling. Ignore the 200,000 illegal aliens caught sneaking across the border and the uncounted tens of thousands who got away. Some of them criminals. The shipments of dangerous, illegal drugs, including the  fentanyl  that’s killing tens of thousands of Americans. Of course, only Fox News seems to be focusing on this mess, but that means it’s not happening, right?

Biden’s failure to alleviate the suffering at the border is morally wrong.

Fox has been using a drone to show the shameful sight of crowds of thousands of illegal aliens waiting to get in and then scatter across the country, at Biden’s invitation. Suddenly the Federal Aviation Administration (run by Biden’s hacks) has ordered the drone grounded because, the FAA laughably claims, it’s interfering with the border enforcement.

Oh, and let’s not overlook the wide door open to who knows what is entering from Afghanistan. Certainly, we owe our allies (now former, no thanks to Biden) but how many of them are on the flights (courtesy of American taxpayers)? Oh, sayeth Biden, folks, not to worry. We’ve got it covered. Doubtful. No evidence.

So, what else?

Covid vaccinations: What happened to the goal that Biden himself set for the percentage of Americans vaccinated? If Trump failed to meet his own self-imposed goal, the media would be wild with condemnations and ridicule. But, hush, Biden blames what his admirers called “stupid” Americans who choose to not be vaccinated. Never mind that those stupid people who are, according to surveys, nurses and other health care workers, minorities and the highly educated.

This just in: “In January, Alaska had the highest per capita coronavirus vaccination rate in the nation. Now, hospitals are overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, and the state’s largest hospital is rationing care.” Oops. Here’s Biden telling everyone, “Get vaccinated.”

Not that vaccination requirements apply to the illegal aliens crossing the southern border or the Afghan refugees (whoever they are) being hustled into the United States.

Never mind also that the Biden administration chooses to ignore the science that challenges its power plays that diminish the rights of Americans to make a living, get an education, travel and more. You’re vaccinated, but you still must wear a mask. You have natural antibodies fighting Covid, but you still must get vaccinated.

Not to be forgotten is how blue state governors ordered the historic and dangerous school shutdowns that damaged the most vulnerable children. (No “equity” there.)

National unity: Biden promised it in his inauguration. Maybe he should have leaned over the podium and whispered it, so we would think that he really, really meant it. There’s enough anger on both sides to spread around the blame, but Biden’s failure to acknowledge his part is stunning. Can he really be that blind?

Here I’m not even going into his foreign policy failures. I haven’t exhausted listing all of his bombs; it’s become too tedious.

Yet, he has the brass to bounce around the country claiming this and that success, while not bothering to mention that worst policy screw-up in America’s history–the deadly Afghan withdrawal. Does he have any idea of where he’s leading America? I don’t think so.

  • Dennis, I find it shameful that this administration and it's supporters can be so blind to these failures of governance . They and Biden prate on as if these failures aren't real...as if they don't exist...as if they are all Trumps fault. It is as if those who dare question their story line, the failed story line they see for themselves in the news every day, are the enemy of "woke" democracy. They believe those who don't blindly accept the administrations spin are ignorant, stupid, AND WORSE! Republican. Well, you can't fool all the people all the time.

  • Another melange of half-truths and distortions. BTW, Dennis will you be attending the rally on September 18th? Your party leader, Trump, is totally behind it.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Such a short memory you have. Dennis is not known as a Trump supporter. Oh, and I won't be at any rally, either.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

But Richard, Dennis still supports the GOP in Congress which takes its orders from Trump.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Better than taking orders from AOC, Susan Rice, or whatever shadow is running the administration.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

    You must have "long" TDS.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

And you think that Trump is not deranged? Explain.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

"At this point what difference does it make?" Hillary Clinton.
