Did President Biden wear his mask to bed tonight?

Seriously. He has mandated that face masks be worn on all federal property and in interstate travel. The White House is federal property.

He's so serious about mask wearing that he wore one at his announcement in the Oval Office tonight during his signing the stack of executive orders. Thanks to the mask I could hardly make out what he was saying. Not that it matters.

He's so slavish about mask wearing, I'm wondering if he's going to wear it whenever or wherever he is in the White House. In bed? In the shower?

Originally, he wanted to mandate that everyone, everywhere, inside or outside, certainly anywhere in public, possibly at home?

This is the result of public policy dictated by ideology and politics rather than facts and science.

  • I think wearing a mask during a pandemic is something dictated by science.

BTW, I find your interest in what Biden wears in the shower is a little peculiar.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Does science dictate mask wearing in your own home?

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

Peculiar, not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • Dele the second "is".

  • Biden failed to wear a mask last night when he appeared at the Lincoln Memorial. Will the media attack him for that?

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

I see you are just calling for 'equal time', right? I mean, the media attacked Trump when he refused to wear a mask while visiting sick people in a hospital. Certainly, not wearing a mask while being outside at the Lincoln Memorial is the same, if not worse, right?

  • In reply to dave77:

The thing about 46 is that he can do no wrong in your eyes. This isn't the first time Sniffy Joe has been caught maskless when he "should" have masked up.

This is beside the point that masks do not prevent the spread of viruses, being that N-95 masks, the best out there, only filter down to three microns and the C-virus is .5 - 1.0. Sorry, bud. That's the vaunted science you guys worship. Cloth and paper masks are useless.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

It didn't take you long to decide to change your argument. Keep thise goalposts moving, right?

  • We'll see what the specific language of the executive order is when it is published in the Federal Register, but I think you will see that it requires following CDC guidelines while on federal land or on interstate transportation. CDC guidelines do not suggest wearing face covering when in bed or in the shower.

As for Richard Davis's profundity, Trump was out of doors at the Lincoln Memorial and more than six feet from others outside his immediate family.

  • In reply to jnorto:

Trump was not advocating mandatory masking and certainly didn't write an Executive Order for one. Admit it, 46 is a hypocrite.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

He complied with his own executive order. How is that hypocrisy?

  • In reply to jnorto:

"Comply" must have an entirely different meaning to some. Let me break it down for you. Biden signs an EO that masks must be worn on federal property. Mere hours later he is on federal property, the Lincoln Memorial, without a mask.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

Here's the text of the EO. Maybe you should read it... https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/01/20/executive-order-protecting-the-federal-workforce-and-requiring-mask-wearing/

Just reading on Drudge that Biden says people have to wear masks isn't same as actually finding out what the EO actually says.

  • In reply to dave77:

Excusing Biden's poor behavior by cherry-picking what rules he should follow is really poor form. A man who orders that others need to wear masks should wear a mask. He needs to lead by example.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

You keep saying "A man who orders that others need to wear masks".

You don't really know what he has ordered, do you?

  • In reply to dave77:

I do know. I know that a man who is so focused on mask wearing as to create an EO about it should follow his own dictates and mask up at all times, especially when he is in public. However, all the mask mandators, from Newsome to Pritzker to Lightfoot, always find exemptions for themselves. With THAT you cannot debate. You will, however, defend.

BTW, can you please tell us your real first and last name and stop hiding behind a handle? What are you hdiing? If you don't self-identify don't expect me to respond to someone who hides in the shadows. Thanks.

  • In reply to dave77:

Dave, you may have to forgive Richard. He has some problems with reading comprehension and he fixates on use of a nom de plume. But writing his postings may have therapeutic value for him.

  • All "individuals in Federal buildings and on Federal lands should all wear masks, maintain physical distance, and adhere to other public health measures, as provided in CDC guidelines."

  • In reply to jnorto:

Again, Joe was maskless right after signing the EO.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

Did you not read the executive order? Masks are to be worn and other measures taken " as provided in CDC guidelines." The guidelines do not require masks at all times on federal property. If they did, Dennis would be correct in insisting that Biden wear them while he is sleeping and showering in the White House.

  • In reply to jnorto:

Words mean different things to Leftists, I guess. That's okay. Good thing it's 46 and not 45.

  • In reply to Richard Davis:

Do you know what the "as provided in CDC guidelines" part means? Not knowing doesn't really make you look like someone that people should take seriously?

  • In reply to jnorto:

Got it. "All" does not mean "all", as 2+2=5.

In the name of unity and in the name of Joe Biden you should stop the ad hominem. Be a peacemaker and inclusive.

I do view it as cowardice that a person cannot post under his real identity or full name.

  • Richard, Richard, condemned if he does, condemned if he doesn't.

  • In reply to Aquinas wired:

    If this had been 45
    And not the great 46
    The buzz would be alive
    That masking was just jive.

  • Why should the rules be different for Beijing Joe than they were for Trump? With apologies to W.C. Field, never give a Marxist an even break.

  • In reply to davegorak:

Ah, name-calling. Your substitute for actually thinking.

W.C. Fields, the actual quote, was something like 'never give a sucker an even break'. Suckers, isn't that what Trump called our armed forces killed in battle? To quote a line from Game of Thrones, "Shame, shame, shame."

  • If you think Trump called WWI war dead "suckers and losers," show me the proof, and The Atlantic's four anonymous sources don't count. Those with him on that trip to France, including former National Security Adviser John Bolton who had no reason for defending his former boss, said he never heard Trump say that. Speaking of things being said that can be proved, we turn to Biden who obviously is struggling with his cognitive powers.
