Best reporting on the Obama Center mess

It comes from Emma Dyer, the news editor at the Chicago Maroon, the independent newspaper at the University of Chicago.  She has been reporting on the Obama Presidential Center for more than two years and in the below video she discusses the deeply troubling problems of plunking a private project into the national historic landmark–Jackson Park.

This is the kind of thoughtful, insightful and objective reporting that has been sorely missing in the Obama Center controversy. Here’s a case in which professional reporters, editorial boards and columnists can learn from a college student.

And here’s another professional reporting job by the Maroon, Finding Common Ground about the nearby Midway Plaisance.
