Democrat gubernatorial candidate Chris Kennedy on Speaker Madigan: Well. Um. What?

Filthy rich and member of the iconic Kennedy political family (does he have anything else going for him?) Chris Kennedy declared that he’s in the race for the Democrat party’s nomination for governor. It didn’t take long for him to dodge questions about his relationship with House Speaker Mike Madigan–the one person most to blame for Illinois’ financial catastrophe. It’s just the start of the mealy-mouth dodging we’ll hear from Democrat nominees.

  • "Filthy rich"! I thought at first you were writing about our current governor.

  • In reply to jnorto:

Which gets to the first essential problem with this race. One has the filthy rich Chris Kennedy going against the extremely filthy rich Pritzker. Both start like Emanuel by working the south side, but somehow I don't recall Pritzker offering to build a Hyatt Hotel at 83rd and S. Lake Shore Drive (plenty of vacant land there). Then there are the moderately wealthy Biss and Drury from the North Shore. Drury's still exploring, but says Madigan retaliated against him, so maybe a has a few bona fides. Pawar seems the only one of the people, and certainly the only progressive. However, I don't think his #11 bus is going to last much longer.

As I asked you the last time this topic, which one are you supporting as being most likely to bend over to Madigan? According to Dennis, Kennedy is working on it.

  • In reply to jack:

Obsessed by Madigan? I suspect you and Dennis would vote for a Donald Trump if you thought he could take down Madigan.

  • In reply to jnorto:

Essentially, there is no difference between Madigan and Trump, except that Trump has been there 42.9 fewer years and is term limited.

Totalitarians are totalitarians. I said that Illinois was not a democracy 10 years ago. It hasn't gotten better.

Your "obsessed" comment makes you sound like Chef. And you haven't said which Filthy Rich Democrat you are supporting. That was the point of my comment.
