Women in combat--take the polls

The Obama administration will open up combat assignments for women in the military. What does that mean? Take the poll.

  • Why can't women serve in combat? My guess is that the men don't want to be embarrassed by a woman with better skills, more savvy, better aim.

It hasn't been that long since women were allowed to vote. Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred did, but she did it backwards in 4 inch heels. Women can go to war too.

  • The polls show people are against women in combat but it is a dead heat on whether or not they should have to register with Selective Service. Is that a bit of a double standard?

Women are capable. Just as capable as men. Competency is not based on age, gender, or race.

  • Money is on the money. Remember Calamity Jane was a better shot than Buffalo Bill.

  • Let's not go overboard here. If someone has met the physical requirements to be on the front line then that's what's most important. And those requirements should be the same for men and women. To say, "Women are capable. Just as capable as men" as it relates to this is a little bit far fetched. If that were the case, then we shouldn't have a women's division and men's division in the Olympics.

I guess you never read about the Amazons at the siege of Troy.
