Tinley Park, is the most kid- and family-friendly town in the United States, according to Business Week.
Something must be happening in Chicago’s suburbs because last year, the honor went to Mount Prospect.
There’s one caveat: Surveys ranking cities, suburbs and states are a dime a dozen and need to be closely examined for their methodology. Often the lists are based on demographic data easily available from the Census Bureau or some other source. Most of these surveys are done to publicize someone or something, which the media gladly accommodate.
Having said that, I’ve got no reason to doubt the excellent quality of life in Tinley Park, Mount Prospect or anywhere else. Congratulations to the people of Tinley Park for the honor and the good living!
