West Coast Games, Falling Asleep On The Couch, and Missing Blogapalooz-Hour

For one hour each month
Bloggers here face a challenge
I missed it last night

If you’re a regular reader of any of the hundreds of blogs here at ChicagoNow, you might have heard about something called Blogapalooz-Hour.

One day near the end of each month, our Community Manager Jimmy Greenfield sends an email with a broad topic on which we are challenged to write. The real challenge isn’t just thinking of something to write that fits within the topic, but to finish writing and post it to our blogs “exactly” one hour after the challenge is issued.

I’ve participated in a few of these, both here and on my other ChicagoNow blog, Not For Jews Only. But I missed it this month.

Here’s this month’s topic, as announced by Jimmy at 9:00 last night:

Welcome to ChicagoNow’s Blogapalooz-Hour!

Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to publish a post in one hour. Here is tonight’s challenge:

“Write about sleep and the impact it has on your life now or at any point in your life”

And this is why I missed it:

Cubs on the west coast
Means I stayed up late Tuesday
Fell asleep Wednesday

So I missed a challenge to write about sleep – not to mention the Cubs game – because I fell asleep on the couch.

That is all.

You can find out when something new is posted here, even if it happens while you’re asleep.  Simply type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list is completely spam free, and you can opt out at any time.
