Going back to September
Cubs have lost them all
Going into Sunday’s game with the series tied at one game apiece, Cubs fans hoped for a victory that would give the team their first series win since they took 2-of-3 from the Reds in Cincinnati last September. They’d played 10 series since then and lost every one.
Instead, the Cubs managed to lose their 11th straight series. Thankfully the weather was nice for those of us who had to endure almost 4 hours of lackluster baseball by the home team while the Reds cruised to an 8-2 victory – scoring 7 of their runs after 2 outs in three different innings. The Cubs had 11 hits on Sunday but, once again, failed to perform when it counted. By the time the seagulls swooped in for their late afternoon snack, the north siders had left 14 runners on base while going 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position.
But you’ve heard that story before.
