Injuries, Updates, and Trends

Aramis Ademan has begun a rehab assignment. He went 0-for-2 and played about half of the game. With Levi Jordan and Cam Balego several days ahead, the full season affiliates should receive a much needed boost of healthy infielders soon.

If Day 2 collegiate draft picks SS Liam Spence, C Casey Opitz as well as OFs Christian Franklin, Parker Chavers, and Peter Matt sign in the near future Myrtle Beach and South Bend should receive a lot of reinforcement soon. I would assume 2nd round pick James Triantos, the only prep bat the Cubs have drafted in the first ten rounds, will open in Mesa and likely remain there the rest of the year.

It is always possible top prospects Reggie Preciado and Owen Caissie get a shot at Myrtle Beach in the 2nd half too.
