  • I hate that the league hasn’t finalized the 2021 season rules. Let’s make it easy for them.

same Covid rules as last season / Keep the Dh; 28 man roster; 7 inning DH expanded playoffs. extra innings etc

23 week season starting last week of April 28; ends 10/4

To minimize travel go to weekly series format. Each week is Wednesday through Monday; Sunday Doubleheader against same team

Last week of season is a doubleheader on Saturday and Monday to get to 162 games

Each team plays their division 3 weekly series; one weekly each against every other team in the League] one weekly interleague series

    Thoughts?

  • In reply to stv711:

the concept seems solid. I probably would have the Sunday double header be a split (day-night) type because all parties will need to maximize revenues if fans are allowed in stadium. I would then have Monday as the off day instead of Tuesday.

  • In reply to TexasCubsFan:

I initially thought the same... but isn't there a Monday night national game each week?

  • In reply to stv711:

I agree, it's time to get this show on the road. The vaccine is on its way and adjustments can be made if necessary. Let's have some fun at the ole ballpark!

  • In reply to stv711:

I like it. I’d actually like the 7-DH and new extra innings rules to continue even once the pandemic is over.

  • Who would the Cubs have to offer the Reds for Castillo (2 more years after 2021 cost control) and taking Nick's contract?

  • Quick note about the Davis interview podcast. I liked it. Good job by both the interviewer and Davis. To this old guy you appeared to be still a little wet behind the ears, but a good professional job. Thanks!
