Jake Arrieta: Breaking Twitter -- A Rundown of Sweet Tweets

What’s not to love about Jake Arrieta? Yeah, for starters there’s the solid numbers he has been putting up on the mound. As of this posting, he’s 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA, striking out on average just more than eight batters a game. I think most of us fondly remember the two no-hitters he took into the 8th inning last season. We know and love him as a great pitcher — but what about his hitting?

He was also part of the miraculous Deal of the Century which brought him and Pedro Stop to the Cubs for Steve Clevenger and Scott Feldman. (Thanks, Orioles). Of late, his Twitter feed has been kicking ass, as he has been answering random questions from fans.

Some of his responses are priceless:

He offers useful, everyday lifestyle advice for all of us:

How about his Cubs teamate ass-slap preference?

Some of his insights on pitchers and pitching are quite interesting:

I love Jake’s take on some of his teammates:

Jake also takes a stab at predicting the future (and writing hash tags) – this is probably a pretty safe bet:

He has an interesting bling preference for when (not if) the Cubs finally win the World Series:

Jake is obviously a pretty down-to-Earth guy with a great sense of humor — but also a true pro who takes his job as a starting pitcher very seriously. It’s great that he opens himself up to fans on social media — it’s probably what makes him one of the most popular, if not the most popular, Cubs. Per his Twitter feed, We fans should never doubt his dedication:
