Checking in from Door County, plan for my long run...

Day 4 of vacation, and we’re winding down the clock on our time away. It’s been an awesome time so far, and I’m definitely relaxed. Coach Jen has me down for my long run tomorrow, as we’ll be driving back home on Saturday.

My plan is simple, run an out and back around Peninsula State Park, it’d get me about 16 miles in theory, if I run well. That will depend on how I feel, especially my legs. So far they have been OK on my short runs, tired but not sore. I got 4 miles in today in 45:00, and felt decent. The view was AWESOME. I got up and out at sunrise and enjoyed the time to myself!

I mapped out a route and am hoping to drive it today, so I don’t get lost. Though it doesn’t seem too bad really, it’s the main road around the Peninsula and then back. Pam, Joe and the girls may rent bikes and come find me tomorrow morning. That or meet me at the half way point with fluids, etc.

Here’s the map…

I think we’re going to lunch in a bit, taking a boat cruise and hitting Al Johnson’s for dinner…so a busy day. I’ll recap the long run tomorrow! More later!
Oh yeah, and go vote! Please and thank you!

  • Dan - Isn't Al Johnson's the place with the goats on the roof?
That run looks absolutely wonderful! Go ahead and rock it. Did you know Door County has a half marathon and 5K in that very park in May? http://doorcountyhalfmarathon.com/images/DoorCountyHalfMap.pdf
