My wedding ring...

Those who know me know that I’m a sentimental guy. Those who are close also know my wedding ring doesn’t fit anymore. I’ve been wearing it on my middle finger since last August. Pam and I have joked that it’s like saying I’m married, eff yeah! But now it’s even getting loose on that finger. Uh oh…

Sunday we were out wandering around and decided to stop by a jeweler to see about getting our rings resized. I’m down a full ring size, and was told that they’d have to cut my ring, remove a little and solder it back together…leaving a mark, or a “scar”.

Pam saw I wasn’t too keen on that so we looked at new bands…I’m not too keen on that either. I want it both ways…my ring, smaller but with no marks.

I don’t think that’s an option. I can either suck it up, have them resize mine and deal with it’s imperfection. Or I can hang onto it and get a new band. I’m still not sure what I should do. I thought I’d throw it out to you, my awesome readers, and get some advice. And I’ve created this snazzy poll to make it easy. So vote or sound off in a comment below.

Let me know! Should I just bite the bullet and resize my ring? Get a new one? Just keep wearing it on the wrong finger?

  • I'd get a new one and just keep the old one. It's not like you're gonna throw it away for the replacement.

    True...I could wear both!

  • How bad would the "scar" on the ring look? Can you make it a thumb ring?

  • In reply to myriahrae:

It'd be noticable and the weaving/ pattern would most likely not line up.
