Results are in…this week I lost 1.1lbs for a total weight loss of 106.8lbs Wahoo! I’m happy for another loss and amazed at the progress to date!
To celebrate I’m going shorts and pants shopping…and maybe even get some new jeans!
Yesterday I was out at Seven Bridges Golf Club for our annual client golf outing. I was there to help as well as raise funds towards my marathon fund raising efforts for the American Heart Association.
When I arrived I saw a freakish sight! Our sales manager in Naperville had taken the photo of the foursome I was in and had my image blown up to life size. Holy effing crap! The change is striking. So my “big brother” and I set up shop inside. We spent the day selling mulligans and 50/50 raffle tickets. It was a fun day and we had a great turn out! I must admit, honestly I was hoping to raise $500. Hitting that would have made my day.
I underestimated the generosity of the clients. In total we raised $1,550 for the AHA! I was moved. Tim, our VP/GM called me up so I could thank everyone. I had a hard time keeping it together and not balling in front of everyone. It was so effing awesome. In fact, I think you could define effing awesome as yesterday. The chairman was in the house and said he was going to send a check to match it. I’m not sure if he meant either the raffle, the mulligan sales or both!
I shared the news with K this morning and she wants to draw everyone a thank you picture. I actually think we might have her draw one, and have it made into a thank you card that we’ll send out to all the clients who were there!
I also thought I should email the Chicago office and thank them…this is the email I sent them:
I feel I’d be remiss if I didn’t take a minute to say thank you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to raise money towards my fund raising efforts for the Chicago Marathon on behalf of the American Heart Association. I’m amazed and humbled by the amount raised yesterday! Our clients’ generosity is awesome!
I need to give a special thanks to Liz, Ada, Rae and Heather for your help selling the mulligans and the 50/50 raffle tickets. Thank you all for your help!
Thank you also for your support for the last 10-1/2 months as I’ve been on this journey. Thank your for letting me vent, offering supportive words and helping me stay motivated. I appreciate it.
I’m going to work with Liz and Rae to get a list of those in attendance so I can send them a personal thank you. Kaelyn told me this morning she wants to draw each one of them a picture!
To recap we raised:
$1,005 from mulligan sales.
$1,090 for the 50/50 raffle…our winner walked away with $545!!!
In total I will be dropping off $1,550 in donations to the American Heart Association from yesterday!
On behalf of the American Heart Association and my family, thank you all!
I really am grateful and humbled by the generosity shown yesterday! Fantastic day! I’m actually going to take the donations over to the AHA office now…and since I’ll be on La Salle, I may go take a peak at the 10-10-10 banners!
