CTA Holiday Train schedule: Red, Purple lines Dec. 16-19; plus Holiday Bus

The Sprint CTA Holiday Train this week continues on the Purple and Red lines.

Santa will ride the Purple Line on Wednesday and Friday, and the Red Line on Thursday. There will be two runs on each day.

Then on Saturday, Santa visits both the Red and Purple lines, with a photo op at the Howard station in early afternoon. Check here later in the week for the full schedule.

Unfortunately, Purple Line track work is planned for Saturday between Sheridan and Howard, when northbound trains will bypass Wilson and all stops north. So be sure to board northbound Red Line trains this weekend at Sheridan.

Meanwhile, the Sprint CTA Holiday Bus will travel on five bus routes over five days this week:

Wednesday, #66 Chicago, departs Chicago/Pulaski at 11:40 am.

  • Is it the Old Milwaukee Beer Santa and the Scott's Organic Fertilizer Reindeer on the bus?

My point is that I don't see why columnists affix the sponsor's name when the sponsor doesn't pay them to do it. At least Soldier Field is not Chase, I mean, PNC Mistake on the Lake.
