CTA Holiday Train to make one last run Monday on Yellow Line

Well over 100 kids and parents waited patiently around noon Saturday to have their photo taken with Santa Claus at Howard Street station on the Red, Purple and Yellow lines.

The CTA elves – employees who volunteer their time to staff the Holiday Train – unloaded 40 boxes of food for needy families served by the Howard Area Community Center and Care for Real. Each box of food serves a family of six, so that’s about 240 people served on this drop.

Monday is the last day to ride the Holiday Train, this time on the Yellow Line. It will leave from Dempster at about 3:05 p.m., making the trip back and forth between between there and Howard about every 10 minutes until just after 7 p.m. Word is that this trip is way less crowded than the others, so it may be worth the time to check it out.

Merry Christmas to all, especially the CTA employees who volunteer their time. (All photos and video by CTA Tattler.)
