Here are few CTA news items from this past week:
RTA passes on consultant to lobby for federal capital dollars. The RTA board Wednesday voted to reject a $1.7 million contract with consultants to lobby Congress for capital repair dollars for the CTA and Metra.
Red-Purple Modernization update meeting set. The CTA has scheduled an “update meeting” on the Red and Purple Line Modernization project for Feb. 6 and 7. The Feb 6 meeting is at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave. The Feb. 7 meeting is at the Broadway Armory, 5917 N. Broadway. Both meetings run from 5 till 7:30 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to:
- Present updates to the ongoing Environmental Impact Statement process.
- Provide additional information to the public about the project.
- Solicit feedback from the community about the project.
