Passengers on Chicago Transit Authority train and buses should look for tighter security — and have more watchful eyes and ears while traversing the city and suburbs.
The major CTA L stations in the Loop and River North already have a decent police presence now. But expect greater vigilance by police in the wake of the killing Sunday of Osama Bin Ladin.
That means any unattended packages or bags will get greater scrutiny. And police may not put up with drunken tomfoolery from commuting baseball fans or anyone else whom they might have shown greater tolerance for in the past.
All in all, the message for all of us is: Be careful out there.
And if you see something, say something.
