Breakfast of champions on CTA's #80 bus

Found on a seat on the #80 Irving Park: one plastic bag containing:

  • A crumpled Doritos bag
  • A used Reese’s Cup package
  • Two mangled Reese’s paper liners

No doubt, another fine breakfast for a high school student.

  • Just wondering why all the (at least recent) sightings are on the #80 bus? No one riding the #4?

  • Well Jack, the Tattler has to go with the reports he gets from field correspondents. In this case, my wife rides the #80 to work.

If you take the #4, feel free to submit your field reports.

  • In reply to KevinO’Neil:

There was a woman on the 66 last night who swore she had no idea she had to pay to ride on the bus. She didn't sound like a tourist either.

  • In reply to Cheryl:

Heck, if she thought she was 65 or over, a military vet, or a qualified disabled person, she probably wouldn't have had to. I wonder if it gets to the point that the free rides exceed the paid ones. Would there be an equal protection argument, then?

  • In reply to jack:

Jack, you have to have the senior card that you have to swipe, even though the ride is free. She didn't swipe a card, she just walked on and sat down.

  • In reply to Cheryl:

I knew that, but one doesn't assume that she did.

I suppose you will tell me she wasn't in uniform, either.

  • That's not a complete teenager breakfast. The 20oz. bottle of sugary pop is missing. I have a great picture of an enormous heap of trash under a seat on the 49. I'd be willing to enter it in the first annual "CTA Tattler Most Egregious Litter on a CTA Vehicle" contest.

  • Martha, great contest idea. Thanks.
