Circling the Loop with Art on Track

Half-off tickets for Art on Track, set for Aug. 7, are on sale now for $5 at the Web site through Friday.

The rolling art gallery is cool way to see great art while circling the Loop on an eight car CTA train. The “mobile art experience” runs from 5 till 10 pm on Saturday, Aug. 7. Here are more details from the site:

Entrance and ticket booths are located at both the Adams/Wabash and Washington/Wells CTA ‘L’ stations (Washington/Wells is handicap accessible). Once your ticket has been purchased, you will be given an official AoT wristband. Simply show your wristband at either of the official entrances, and you will be able to board Art on Track without paying the normal CTA fair.

Art on Track will make four stops on its circuit around the loop, allowing passengers enough time to switch cars. The train usually takes fifteen to twenty minutes per round trip, so viewing each train car once will take you about forty minutes in total.

This really is a fun event. It usually sells out, so get your tickets now at this good price.

  • I'm not sure of the significance of the car seats and stanchions wrapped in plastic, in the picture. Is it to keep the Kentucky Fried Rat, wank or puke off them, sort of similar to the windows having removable graffiti guard?

I'm in. Should we plan a Tattler meet up for that day?

  • In reply to Cheryl:

Great idea Cheryl. Unfortunately, I had previously planned an out of town trip. But y'all can go for it yourselves, and I can help. Let me know.
