Tattler's 2nd annual Holiday Train meetup set for Sat., Dec. 12

Plan to join your very own CTA Tattler and other loyal readers on the CTA’s Holiday Train next Saturday, Dec. 12.

Exact boarding times are not available yet, but we’re hoping to meet the train
at Roosevelt in the early afternoon. The train will be on the Orange
and Brown line tracks that day — an Orange train south of the Loop and
Brown north of the Loop.

We will ooh and ah, admire the gaudy decorations and silly ad cards,
take copious photos and generally have a great time riding north. Then
we’ll exit at the Brown Line Western stop and repair to a pub for more
holiday merriment.

Seasonal fun will be had by all. And, an added bonus: All attendees will get some Tattler merch — the coveted CTA Tattler ChicagoNow button. Please do plan to join us.

Meanwhile, the Beachwood Reporter has collected some fun videos of the Holiday Train. And here’s my photo from last year’s event.

  • Guess where I won't be on Dec. 12th.

  • Guess where I won't be on Dec. 13th?

  • I guess Martha is going to make me show up this time.

  • I don't force, I cajole. Consider yourself cajoled. :) Regardless, don't be like ibill, whose heart is three, maybe four, sizes too small. ibill will be happy to know that the elves seem to have been pink-slipped or at least furloughed.

  • In reply to marthat3:

Yeah, let's celebrate the layoffs of 1000 people.

  • In reply to ibilldavis:

Following Bill's logic, we wouldn't celebrate anything ever again until all the jobs are restored. I don't like the layoffs anymore than anyone else, but it's not going to keep me from trying to celebrate the Christmas spirit.

  • In reply to KevinO’Neil:

No money for service, but money for amusement park rides.
