Gory greetings from Count Gregula! I have some ghoul news for all my revolting readers and sinful subscribers to this blog. The BEAST time of year is here once again! So many fang-tastic fears and fall frights are already getting going this month.

Below is my deadly directory of a select few Chicagoland haunted happenings that offer some sinister scares, heinous horrors and terror treats. Be sure to check each individual site for exact times and dates of operation. I have everything categorized below. Have fun getting scared! BOO!!! V^^^V


Evil Intentions Haunted House


Celebrating 10 years of fear! In Elgin’s industrial section stands the abandoned home of Elgin Casket Company. This once proud building has been vitness to murder, grisly discoveries, cult activities, and unexplained occurrences, and a dark legacy has emerged from its sordid history. Evil Intentions Haunted House now takes up residence at this completely unique location and nothing else is like it in the state of Illinois. Be truly terrorized at this multi-level 55,000 square foot paranormal hot spot. The horrific haunt offers a hex-perience you vill never forget and macabre memories that vill give you nightmares for years to come. A must see because this vill be their final season at the Elgin Casket Company.

Located at 900 Grace Street in Elgin, Illinois. Parking is free in the adjacent lot across the street. Evil Intentions Haunted House opens to the public for shows beginning on Friday, September 21, 2018, and runs on select dates through October 31, 2018. General admission tickets are $25 per person. Midnight Terror Haunted House


Midnight Terror Haunted House in Oak Lawn opens for its fifth season on September 28th. Recently ranked the top “Must-See Haunt” in the entire state of Illinois by, based on votes by fans. Now in its third straight year since 2016 at its larger location, Midnight Terror Haunted House has been ranked in several top 10 lists and visitor counts have increased. Creator/co-owner Justin Cerniuk runs Midnight Terror as a family rather than a corporation by allowing his actors creative freedom. They spent the past 10 months designing an entirely new layout vith all new rooms and every costumed character vas re-envisioned Every year Midnight Terror offers a great array of value-added promotions and discounts. New for 2018, every ticket bought on-site on Sundays a $1 vill be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project plus free trick-or-treating “lights-on” tour for kids 12 and younger that are accompanied by an adult on October 31 from 3:30-5:30PM.

13th Floor Chicago


The vorld-famous haunted house brand, 13th Floor, returns to the suburbs of Chicago this fall. 13th Floor Chicago is one of the Chicago area’s largest haunted houses featuring over 30,000 square feet of authentic movie-quality sets, animatronic monsters, special effects, and actors in every darkened corner. The fifth season of 13th Floor Chicago brings two new shows The Possession and Dead-End District: The Cell. In The Possession, restless spirits lurk in the shadows threatening to possess their visitors. In the second show, Dead-End District: The Cell, the L.O.S.T. Facility has vorked vithin the shadows, keeping the vorld safe from monsters, demons and supernatural beings.

House of Torment Chicago


The nationally celebrated haunted house brand, House of Torment, returned to the suburbs of Chicago once again this fall to thrill for a frightening fourth season. House of Torment offers two new shows Dead By Dawn and The Shadowrealm: Slenderman. In Dead By Dawn, the PL4-GU3 Virus has found its vay to the Town of Perdition. The few that have survived have barricaded themselves inside their stores, homes or anyplace vith four valls to feel safe. In The Shadowrealm: Slenderman, strange occurrences have been seen throughout the halls of Templeton High School. Is it the Slenderman?

Located at 8240 North Austin Avenue in Morton Grove, Illinois. Free parking in adjacent parking lot. House of Torment Chicago is ADA-accessible, all indoors, including the vaiting area. Bengtson’s Pumpkin Fest


Bengtson Farm is a family owned and operated Pumpkin Festival that has served the Homer Glen area for 37 years. The state’s most popular pumpkin patch and pumpkin farm. The pumpkin festival is located just 40 minutes outside of Chicago. Stay as long as you like and enjoy 9 unlimited rides EVERYDAY.

Jack’s Pumpkin Nights


The newest interactive Pop-Up Experience to hit Chicago, Jack’s Pumpkin Nights is located on over 2 acres in Goose Island. Music Box of Horrors 2018


Music Box of Horrors returns to The Music Box Theatre vith 24 Hours of complete Movie Madness. This year’s horror homecoming vill be bigger, scarier and deadlier than ever! Included are ghoulish guests, vicked vendors and fiendish food trucks. The 2018 macabre movie marathon celebrates the 30th anniversary of CHILD’S PLAY vith special guest Don Mancini in person. Other attendees include Kevin J. O’Connor from LORD OF ILLUSIONS and a live score performed by False Gods Trio to Alfred Hitchcock’s THE LODGER.

Located inside the Music Box Theatre at 3733 N Southport Ave in Chicago, Illinois. Running Saturday, October 13th at noon (doors open at 11AM) to Sunday, October 14th at noon. Admission is $30 from September 1st until October 12th or $35 day of at the door (October 13th).
