Shop Small Day 268: The Magic Tree Bookstore

Supporting small businesses today? Good for you! Here’s another great store to visit while you’re out shopping. There’s no better place for opening the magical world of books to kids than The Magic Tree Bookstore.

A neighborhood staple since 1984, Magic Tree Bookstore  is dedicated to kids (and kids at heart).

I’m a strong believer that kids (and adults) who say they don’t like to read, simply haven’t found the right book yet.

Trying to find one you that’ll spark a life-long reader? The Magic Tree Bookstore has books divided into every category: fiction, sports, fantasty, graphic novels, history, magic, and everything in between.

The best part here is letting the kids guide you. Let them wander and browse (without interferring!!) until something catches their attention- it will happen!

In all honesty, I can’t say they have the friendliest customer service- toward adults- but I did like how they interacted with the kids. If they’re able to create enthusiastic readers, I think that’s a little more important here.

imageMagic Tree Bookstore also has storytimes and author signings, so watch their Facebook page for special events.

Need somewhere to start? Here are a few of my kids’ favorites throughout the years: Caps for Sale, Homer, Bone, Cupcake Diaries, Skippyjon Jones, Shake dem Bones, Freddy and the French Fries, Fenway Fever, Spud Murphy, and Mockingbird to name a few.

Keep me posted on the great shops you’re finding today (and everyday!).
