Shop Small Day 239: Szela's European Deli & Subs

It’s that time of year: tailgating and Oktoberfest parties. Though you may not eat it any other time of the year, every good Oktoberfest needs sauerkraut. If you aren’t planning on making your own, it’s a good thing they have plenty for you at Szela’s European Deli & Subs.

imageLocated in a non-descript strip mall- the main sign just reads Deli- they’ve been serving up (to-go) fresh deli sandwiches and European favorites since 2007.

Although their deli case is big on meats, cheeses, and European favorites, the place is small. So, expect crowds, especially at lunch time. Also expect to hear plenty of Polish spoken. image

I like their hot meal section with delicious cheese blintzes, perogies, and of course, pork tenderloin.

Szela’s has a few shelves of imported Polish, German, and Czech staples- my kids always like picking out a new candy or different bag of chips to try.

imageThey also have plenty of sausages and bakery goods too. And, you can’t miss the barrels full of kraut.

No need to do all of the cooking for your next Oktoberfest party alone, let Szela’s help you out.

Still need brats? Don’t forget about The Wurst Kitchen!
