Shop Small Day 194: Warren's Ale House

I have to thank my friend Sarah for today’s small business. If it weren’t for her fantastic fundraiser last night, I would still be in the dark about this place. I didn’t have a typical experience here, but, from what I saw last night, I’ll definitley be back to Warren’s Ale House.

Even though I’m in the Wheaton/Glen Ellyn area often, I hadn’t been to the Danada Town Square in a long time.

imageLike I said, my experience was atypical, though. I was there for a Connection of Friends fundraiser that supports teens and adults with special needs that have “aged out” of school & most programs. (It’s a phenomenal local organization, look into it if you haven’t already).

What better idea for fundraising, than a beer/food pairing night?!

If the food we had is any idication of the rest of the meals on the menu, you’re in luck: Braised Chicken & Cheddar Quiche Bites with Herb Aioli; Shrimp Tostadas with Pineapple Mango Salsa & Cilanto Cream; and Slow Roasted Beef Short Ribs with Toast Points, Slaw and Nitro Infused BBQ Sauce were my three favorite courses.

You may be a bit overwhelmed by the extensive menu (almost 3 pages worth!). Don’t go with your regular old standby, though, try something new.

Just to help you out, my three favorite from the night were Breckenridge Agave Wheat, Two Brothers Laughing Panda, and German Style Pilsner Trumer Pils.

Warren’s Ale House has been open a little over a year, but I’d say they’re here to stay.

It’s obviously a great choice for your next event, but also the perfect spot for lunch/dinner or just a drink at the bar. They also have brunch on the weekend.

imageWhat am I having on my next visit? It’s a toss-up between the pan seared scallops & the pot roast sandwich, a Two Brothers Laughing Panda, and of course, dessert.
