Who goes on a waterpark weekend trip hoping to find a swimsuit upon arrival? That would be me. Actually, I needed suits for myself and my son! My regular stand-by’s, Athleta and Target, were out of the question so we took a chance at Aloha Hawiian Shop.
It paid off! Yes, it’s easier to shop small in one of the tourist meccas of the US than in my hometown.
Aloha Hawaiian Shop is obviously everything Hawaiian you can imagine: Kona coffee, flowered shirts, and tons of suits!
Although I didn’t scan the Target ad before we left, I didn’t think $16 for my son’s suit was out of line. I also found a pair of board shorts (that I love!) and a rash guard shirt for myself. Both were under $20!
Probably more than other locations, small business owners in vacation areas truly depend on tourists to keep their shops alive. Dana has owned the Aloha Hawaiian Shop for 11 years, and she couldn’t be nicer!
