The school year is winding down. You know what that means: time to cram in as many afternoon visits with girlfriends ASAP! Whether you’re looking for a little shopping and lunch, or afternoon tea with mom, this place is the perfect option. And, if you’re looking for a gorgeous setting for your vintage/rustic wedding you also need to check out Emerson Creek Pottery & Tea Room!
Seriously! Doesn’t this look like the perfect spot for an afternoon iced tea (long island or not!) chilling out with friends? Once you’re done with lunch, stroll across the gravel drive to the Pottery & Gift Store where you can pick up a piece (or two) of one-of-a-kind Emerson Creek pottery. The building alone is worth seeing: a 100 year old farmhouse. All of the pottery is handmade in Bedford, Virginia using a unique hand-painting process without the use of stencils. Other gift shop items include original handcrafted merchandise (many by local artists), jewelry, and signs.
If you’re looking for even more gift selections, Emerson Creek Pottery also holds a Summer Market every Wednesday, beginning June 5th. You’ll find a variety of vendors throughout their grounds and within the gorgeous barn.
Planning a rustic or vintage wedding? You can do that here too. If you do, please invite me! The barn is so incredible, I can only imagine how beautiful the wedding (not to mention the pictures!) would be. Of course, it should be stunning since the owners actually spent two years renovating the barn to hold their own wedding in 2010.
Granted, the beautiful setting means it’s tucked away, so it’s a little tricky to find the first time.
