Bye for now Cleveland Orchestra and Hello Chicago Dancing Festival 2013
What a delightful weekend the Joffrey Ballet had at the Blossom Music Center! The company travelled with a very special program which we will also perform in a few weeks at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago during our “Russian Masters” series September 19-22.The only difference in Chicago’s program is that “Bells”, from Yuri Possokhov, will be replacing “Son of Chamber Symphony”, from Stanton Welsh. The program is rightfully called the Russian Masters.
After a few successful collaborations in the past, The Joffrey Ballet returned to Ohio and the Blossom Music Center for the 4th time this weekend, to once more achieve the deliverance of another beautiful night. This time around 9000+ audience members showed up to each performance. The growing audience only reassured us that we are indeed doing the right thing. The collaboration between the Cleveland Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Tito Munoz, and The Joffrey Ballet, directed by Ashely Wheater, is really appreciated by everyone participating and enjoying this evening.
The energy was positive and high and while we are on our way back to Chicago everyone is showing joy all over their face. This joy is from dancing well and pleasing our audience, and for me, meeting friends from the Cleveland Orchestra and tying up amazing friendships.
We are now all back in Chicago and tomorrow begins the Chicago Dancing Festival 2013. I will be performing Son of Chamber.
This is Blossom Music Center audience’s response to our performance 🙂
