1, 2, 3…the countdown is already happening and my accumulation of various parts is coming and going. Last night I performed the Nutcracker Prince and had been looking forward to making it a wonderful moment….15 minutes of intense dancing to close the ballet.
April Daly was my sugarplum partner last night and she was wonderful. I was somewhat able to surpass the pain of a stressed calf I am currently experiencing just to try to enjoy the moment and be present with her. The lights, the audience, and the wonderful smile of my partner. It is a joy of fortune to be on stage and to represent the Joffrey Ballet here in LA, to have an opportunity to be the one doing the job and to have the responsibility to close the show. The whole company brings the evening to one level, but I take a certain responsibility to keep that level or bring it higher and close the entire evening that way.
Our last performance here in LA is this afternoon…it was great fun dancing in LA! The city is warm, wonderful, and the audiences were incredible with each show. Thank you Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Times, Laura Bleiberg, and most certainly thank you to our los angelenos audiences 🙂
