Where's Paddy in Chicago today? Hanging out with a friend who can't be trumped.

Being Irish on St Patrick’s Day is like being Santa Claus himself. Everyone welcomes you into their homes – even Presidents of the United States. Of course, it’s really special if the President himself happens to be Irish. Or at least Irish-ish. Which apparently applies to 22 American presidents, including the previous occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, President O’Bama. Although it remains to be seen if he’s as Irish as Ronald Reagan who even made the snack shop in his Presidential Library in the form of an Irish pub.

Yes, I can hear you say, but what’s all this to do with today’s hunt for the wee fella. Well, it’s meant to be a huge clue to help you guess who’s hosting my little friend. And no help at all as to the why.

This frivolous taking-up of your time has been brought to you by the creator of the Chicago St Patrick’s Day Advent Calendar. Believe it or not, she’s going to do the same thing tomorrow. As she did yesterday. And will carry on doing so until March 17. If you don’t believe me, just watch that big ‘Where’s Paddy?’ tab at the top of the page fill up.

And in the meantime, talking about nice Irish Presidents….

There’s not just one good reason to be Irish, but 2,700 of them if you turn 100
