ChicagoNow is a group of bloggers from all sorts of different backgrounds.
With so much collective experience, we’ve decided to put that knowledge to use by posing some of the oldest and most popular questions to the group.
When is the best time of day to share on social media?
“9:17 a.m.” — Mark Andel, Hot Dog Diaries
“Different on different days of the week. 8am for Mondays, 2:30pm for Thursdays, etc.” — Lea Grover, Becoming SuperMommy
“8am and 4pm CST. The spike starts early and goes thru an east coast and then central morning commute, quiets down, and then spikes again for the commute home. I started sharing more during those time frames as soon as I noticed the trend.” — Sophie Sanchez, Cosmic Chicago
“I have tried to research this in the past, and read that 1-4pm for Facebook, 5-6pm for Instagram and 1-3pm for Twitter are optimal. Tumblr and Pinterest are best after 8pm! I find it so interesting that different sites have different times, perhaps due to the age of the users?” — Susan Schulhof, Looking for the Good
“Depending on your readers. Mine are mostly in the U.S. and the Netherlands. With the 7 hour time difference I usually start posting late at night here, because that’s when the people in the Netherlands wake up.” — Annemarie Verweij, Dutch Alien Lands in the U.S.
