ChicagoNow is a group of bloggers from all sorts of different backgrounds.
With so much collective experience, we’ve decided to put that knowledge to use by posing some of the oldest and most popular questions to the group.
What is your favorite Chicago mural?
“There are so many it’s impossible to pick a favorite. Pilsen is definitely a great area for murals; however, my recent finds were in the Wicker Park/Bucktown area.” — Sher BonDurant, On Tap in the Windy City
“Any of the Hector Duarte murals in Pilsen. If you haven’t visited the mural ‘gallery’ there, it is totally worth a day visit.” — Ana Martin Sagredo, Foreign Affairs: Children Edition
“I grew up with the murals of Pilsen, but my favorite is a new one called Pajaro Cosmico by artist Remed in collaboration with a student program at the National Museum of Mexican Art. I love the bold colors and how the Universe is represented.” — Sophie Sanchez, Cosmic Chicago
“Check out the murals in the Pullman neighborhood, including paintings of laborers, industry, Pullman porters and Barack Obama. With its U.S. Landmark status, Pullman is a great place to study history.” — H. Van Howe, Pizza For Breakfast
