Vans, the original action sports brand and icon of creative expression, is kickstarting the next chapter of its global brand campaign, This Is Off The Wall, with “Girls Skate India.” Featuring Vans athletes Lizzie Armanto and Atita Verghese, the emotional narrative shows how the next generation of females are gaining confidence, self-expression and empowerment through an unorthodox outlet: skateboarding.
“Girls Skate India” captures the power that skate culture can have on a community. In tandem with the campaign, and to share the philosophy of “Girls Skate India,” Vans will host more than 100 skateboarding clinics in major cities such as Brooklyn, Chicago, London, St. Petersburg, Shanghai, Bangalore, São Paulo, and Mexico City, inviting women to learn something new alongside their peers and together inspire a new wave of women’s skateboarding progression.
From experts to beginners, Vans welcomes everyone to these clinics and encourages the emerging women’s skate community to come together and celebrate creativity.
On Saturday, March 17th, House of Vans Chicago hosted its first of four clinics. Vans global skate team athlete, Lizzie Armanto, and Vans Brand Ambassador, Atita Verghese, offered private skate lessons and taught attendees how to build their own skate decks. House of Vans also hosted a photo show led by female artists along with a video screening, panel discussion, giveaways and more. The night ended with an open skate jam and epic live performance by Bully.
