Featured Library Cat: Nyx!

When you think of libraries and librarians, do you think of books?

I think of cats.

Librarians LOVE cats.  In fact, several libraries around the world (and around Chicagoland) have or have had resident library cats…cats who hang around and make the library a much more awesome place than it already is.  Like Nyx, the Chesterfield County (VA) Public Library’s “Goddess of the Night.”

Nyx was born with deformed eyes.  She was found in a grocery store parking lot and brought to a shelter, where she received surgery to close her eyelids.  She was eventually adopted by the CCPL and has been their library cat ever since!  She’s been to American Library Association meetings and even has her own blog and Facebook page

We had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago when Nyx wasn’t in great health but she seems to have recovered nicely!
