On the Off Chance, Living Colour, and the Barenaked Ladies were the final bands to take the stage for this summer’s New Lenox Triple Play Concert Series. I think this was one of the biggest crowds I’ve seen here this summer.
The weather was perfect in the beginning, it wasn’t too hot or too cold, but while Living Colour was out performing it started to pour. It eventually let up but started up again while the Barenaked Ladies were playing, lead sing Ed Robertson joked that even he was getting rained on while he was singing. There were many food vendors in attendance which were amazing as usual.
On the Off Chance, the opening band of the evening, are a vocal pop and rock music group from New Lenox, IL. The band consists of members: Jason Parks, Anthony “Tone Bone” Bartkowiak, Rebekah Rakow, Steve Ashum and Dan Dougherty create vocal pop and rock music. They had 13 songs on their set list including three of their new ones!
The second band of the night was Living Colour, from New York City. The member’s of this group are singer Corey Glover, guitarist Vernon Reid, bassist Muzz Skillings, and drummer Will Calhoun. The band’s music is a creative fusion influenced by heavy metal, funk, jazz, hip hop, country, and alternative rock. Their new album SHADE comes out on September 8th, be sure to check it out!
The final band of the night was the Barenaked Ladies! They are a Canadian rock band, and currently composed of Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, Ed Robertson, and Tyler Stewart. They had an amazing setlist and the crowd would not stop singing and dancing even in the rain! They played their hit songs, “Pinch Me”, “One Week,” “Big Bang”, and “If I Had $1,000,000.”
