DD Summer Soundtrack campaign featured Hippo Campus in Riverside Plaza

Tuesday afternoon in downtown Chicago at Two North Riverside Plaza, Dunkin’ Donuts and Spotify teamed up to offer the DD Summer Sound Tracks pop-up concert featuring Hippo Campus. They offered two show times first at 12:30pm and again at 2pm.

Hippo Campus formed in 2013 and hailing from Woodbury, Minnesota. They are an emerging group of performers; they recently release of their debut EP “Bashful Creatures.” We were treated to this four member band as they showed off their unique pop rock music style to the enjoyment of young fans and office workers out in the plaza for this lunchtime music treat. They have opened for My Morning Jacket, Real Estate, and Modest Mouse, and been featured on Conan O’Brien Presents: Team Coco.

Two North Riverside Plaza, features some of Chicago’s architectural firsts, such as, first public plaza at an office building, first use of air rights over railroad tracks, focus on the riverfront. This plaza is now a popular concert space geared toward a corporate lunch crowd, offering summer concerts from June to August.

Dunkin Donuts supplied a sample of deliciously refreshing Dunkin’ iced coffee to accompany the smooth summertime sound.

 DD Summer Soundtrack campaign kicked off July 21st with the first show, in Philadelphia, features Marian Hill. Other artist and shows will be performed in Miami, Chicago, New York and Boston.

The DD Summer Soundtrack campaign (DDSummerSoundtrack.com), which was developed and implemented by Hill Holliday media agency, Trilia, will include custom and exclusive content from each of the shows available at www.DDSummerSoundtrack.com. Hill Holliday and Trilia are Dunkin’ Donuts’ national creative and media agencies of record, respectively. To celebrate and amplify reach of this content to music and coffee lovers, Dunkin’ and Spotify will distribute across social channels including Twitter, Vine, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Snapchat using targeted native ads. The performance was broadcasted live via Periscope to drive excitement and live tune-ins.

We will rate this pop-concert performance with four guitars. We will be keeping an eye on this group and look forward to saying; we saw them perform back when they were starting out. Great job guys, keep it up.
