Welcome to March and Meteorological Spring! And we’re off to a roaring start with record cold high temperatures in Chicago, big snow in Boston and deadly tornadoes in Alabama.
Still, the snow is almost gone here, and most of the ice has melted on the sidewalks. The streets are blooming with potholes–one of the first signs of spring.
There are the things hidden in the snow all winter–a set of keys, a single glove, a possum skeleton…plastic bags, empty chip bags, dog stuff, too.
Buds are swelling on the branches, the start of this year’s leaves. Soon, there will be signs of green.
Every day there’s a little more light in the morning and evening. We are approaching the vernal equinox, the start of astronomical spring.
The Easter candy is on display at Walgreens.
And counting down the days to baseball opening day–there are spring training games on the radio!
