Last week Rose Metal Press announced the winner of their 5th Annual Short Short Chapbook Contest. The judge for the contest was the wonderful Kim Chinquee, and chose Betty Superman by Tiff Holland from Round Rock, TX. The collection will be published this July, and you can guarentee your copy by subscribing to the press today.
What I found more fascinating, and perhaps relevant to this blog, were the list of Finalists and Semifinalist that the press released. First, the press received their highest number of submission in their five year history, 117. The Chicago writers to make into this mix were Finalists Chris Bower with The Family Dogs and Andrew Farkas with Extended Play in the Bottomless Pit. Caroline Picard was a Semifinialist with her collection Arktoi. Hopefully these collections will find homes soon.
