Chicago Poetry Tour

The Poetry Foundation has been giving NPR a run for its money with their fascinating podcast series Chicago Poetry Tour since December, and I’m not sure why I haven’t brought it up sooner. The series has been to New Chinatown, on The El, to Chess Records, to the Art Institute, and many other places. Each episode has been an interesting collision between an historical look at the city and poetry.

The podcast runs every two weeks, and the latest episode takes place at The Newberry Library. The library has twice been home to Poetry Magazine and in the podcast you learn at more about the history of the magazine.
