New from Lacey Pipher

As a fan of books and someone who has always loved to collect old books, I have long been fascinated by the work of Chicago’s Lacey Pipher. To take books that no one cares for any longer and dissect them, rearrange them, and turn them into creatures and more is amazing. I love to try to read the words scattered across her creations. She recently sent me an image of latest piece, “Toe Tapper”, for a benefit show for Rock The Kids. How do you feel about book dissection for the sake of Art? See also Brian Dettmer.

Lacey is taking part in the OHNO!DOOM Grand Opening show this weekend. Proceeds from the show will go to Rock The Kids, non-profit that brings music education to underprivileged youth. The show opens on Jan. 16th and will run through Feb. 6th.

  • The sculpture creation looks very cool...and its a brilliant way of blowing new life into discarded books...

After five years into its making, I also got my book of architectural paintings of Chicago got published in Dec'2009. Its titled "Curves & Crevices Romancing Chicago"... a high-end coffee table book of my own pen & ink line drawings which are digitally painted to the minutest details to capture the sheer beauty of Chicago's eminent architectural line up.

How could I get Jason to write a review on this ?
