Yes Network reporter Sarah Kustok is back in her hometown of Orland Park, Illinois today. She will be at the courthouse in Bridgeview Thursday morning as the state of Illinois’ case against her father, Allan Kustok continues. He is on trial for murdering his wife Jeanie Kustok; Sarah’s mother.
Sarah Kustok is a current Brooklyn Nets television presenter formerly of Comcast SportsNet Chicago. She has been subpoenaed by the court and will testify on behalf of her father’s defense. Sarah was back in Chicago when jury selection began in the murder case against her father, but in between the start of the trial and her testimony, she flew back to New York and resumed her duties with the Brooklyn NBA team.
This past Saturday, Sarah Kustok even called the women’s game between DePaul and Marquette on Fox Sports 1. It’s amazing and extremely commendable that she can focus on work at an extremely trying time such as this.
After a cross-examination of a forensics expert, the state may indeed rest their case against Allan Kustok. Then the defense will start presenting their case with Sarah Kustok as one of the first witnesses.
Sarah primarily served as the Chicago Blackhawks rinkside reporter for CSN Chicago, preceding Susannah Collins. Before breaking into television media, Sarah Kustok was one of the most decorated players in DePaul women’s basketball history, holding a few school records upon graduation. Her brother Zak Kustok is also an accomplished athlete having enrolled to play college football at Notre Dame before transferring a couple times.
He then settled at Northwestern, where he broke a couple NU passing records. It was reported earlier that Zak Kustok had also been subpoenaed, and is on the list of potential witnesses. However, more recent reports indicate that he is only at the courthouse to support his wife, who is testifying for the prosecution against Allan Kustok.
According to an exclusive interview I had with Sarah Kustok in January of 2010, Zak Kustok today is..“is in spinal device sales with NuVasive and lives in Chicago with his wife, Nicole.”
Zak Kustok was on the practice squads of the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins, but he never played a regular season snap in the NFL.
