Gourd yourself on pumpkins this weekend

Happy Sweetest Day! Just kidding, it’s a stupid, made-up holiday. Forget trying to find some fake romantic dinner, and enjoy these fun weekend activities.

The Chicago History Museum’s Project Sunday is showing the Silence of the Lambs at Sheffield’s Beer Garden on Sunday at 7 p.m. It fills up fast so get there early so you can get a seat.

The Food Truck Food Court will take place at the season finale of Vintage Garage Chicago. Popular trucks Get Curried Away (@getcurriedaway), Chitown Tamale 9@chitowntamale0, Baby Cakes (@babycakestruck), Chicago Cupcakes (@Chicago_Cupcake), Stop and Go (@StopNGoChicago), Bridgeport Pasty (@Bridgeportpasty0, Mojo Express (@mjexpress14) and Getta Polpetta @gettapolpetta

Still haven’t found your perfect pumpkin? Visit one of the Chicago Park District’s pumpkin patches.

I love pumpkin treats, but only if they’re in the sweet, unhealthy form. One of my favorite bakeries in the city, Magnolia Bakery, has all sorts of pumpkin items for the rest of the month. Yum!

The 48th Annual Chicago International Film Festival runs all weekend. There are dozens of movies to choose from, so take your pick.

Don’t forget that next week is Haunted House Week at Chicago Quirk. I’ll review a different haunted house each day, leading up to my number one recommendation.
